Every Woman Is a World rescues words, teachings, and faces of women of various walks of life in San Cristóbal de Las Casas, Chiapas.Through those women’s words, we get an extraordinary glimpse at life in this southern state of Mexico, especially women’s lives. Kiki and Gayle recognize the strength and sensibility of the women of San Cristóbal, women of time and wisdom who live day by day without knowing what tomorrow will bring; they future does not scare them, the past is gone, and although they remember a few days of joy, they agree with Frida Kahlo when she says at the end of her life: “I hope I never come back.”
